Growing up in the rural area of this country can be daunting but a more daunting one is obtaining that which you needed the most in life.
I was just a young country lad from a very poor family, no wonder people call us urchins, growing up wasn’t funny at all. Every single thing comes with it’s own challenges, I have the challenges of not having what I ever needed to grow up in the society.
What we saw, is a story about my life and that of my family, I am supposed to be in school right now but I will unveil to you on how I dropped out of school because of what we saw.
My uncle was a business man who has the capacity to import his branded goods from China, I am the first son of my parents (poor parents). Friends refer to me as someone who’s brilliant enough to further his studies. I had always expected help from my uncles with a special interest on uncle Chris who has affiliation with a Chinese manufacturing company.
Unfortunately my uncle wasn’t interested in my academics, he was just interested in his direct family and his business, he had earlier told me to come and join in learning how to trade cables.
At this very moment of life, I was confused about what to do since i am already bias about furthering my school.
My uncle insisted that, I must learn the business or forget anything that has to do with my studies. He said I can further my studies after I am done learning the trade. I think this is actually a good opportunity for me to consider then I really have to go to Lagos to learn the trade.
After much deliberation with my family members, they finally agreed to let me go to Lagos and learn trade. Although my parents have no option that to send me to Lagos to go and learn trade.
Learning trade can be tedious for a 13 year old lad but that was actually the best option them.
