Rev. Siter Joan had taken me to the singer’s place who further accessed my backgrounds and felt sorry for everything I have been through and promised to help me continue my studies but in a music school where I will also receive training from her among other music students.
Although this wasn’t my initial plan. I never thought of going to a music school, I have always dreamed to be a lawyer to fight for the oppressed and downtrodden in our society.
A beggar has no choice and music is also something I have passion for, so I am very happy for the opportunity to enrol in a music school where I can further develop my music skills.
The lady singer and the reverend sister had agreed to talk to my stepmother on the issue of not wanting to allow me to leave home as she would be needing my help at her shop. Luckily enough they were able to enforce that on her, it wasn’t her will to let that be but there’s nothing she can do about it this time around. The world was about to keep their hands and rescue me to shine the light.
My interest in the music industry was to sing the Gospel as it is also a medium to communicate with God and help humanity maintain the vertical relationship existing between God and man.
It took me several months before my first appearance on stage in a birthday ceremony where I was asked to perform on the invitation as a guest artist.
The invent was filled with prominent men and top government officials, I was at first startled with such a huge crowd and sceptical I was not going to perform well as such people will always want the best of the best.
The smiles and laughter on the faces of the invitee leave a message behind as I sing and this gave me the enablement to raise my voices and sing the more. I was applauded and allowed to receive handshakes from members of the high table immediately after my performance.
After my performances on the birthday ceremony, I was encouraged to do more I had gotten some supports too, I decided to put more efforts in learning a musical instrument with my major interest in guitar.
I so much believe that the musical instrument will add more to my skills and help me make my audience feel wow whenever I sing and play the instrument on stage. But something was bothering me a lot during that period of time.
My music teacher became ill and admitted in the hospital I was sceptical I’m going to drop out of school for the second time if things become worst as she had been in coma for more than three days.
Did Helen’s helper died from the coma, or did she regained her health and continue helping Helen to graduate from the music school? Find out more in part four of the story.
